Wow! Mayweather vesus Mosley 24/7 does it again.
HBO and the 24/7 crew really know how to produce incredible sports documentaries that get the anticipation for their big fights really pumped!
And yet again, they have delivered with Mayweather versus Mosley 24/7. For those of you who don't know ... well, firstly you're not real fight fans ... but 24/7 is where the camera crew follow both of the fighters in the build-up to the big night, and get inside their training camps and their heads.
It reveals parts of the training, backroom set-up, and mindsets of the boxers that we never got to watch. Watching Mayweather-Mosley 24-7 is like following the two boxers around by yourself for a few weeks. Except, of course, the producers carefully craft the show to tell a story and to get us really thinking that the 38-year-old Mosley may have a chance against the younger, quicker, undefeated ... and one of the greatest of all time ... Mayweather.
That's the magic of the show .. when I watched the Hatton vs Mayweather 24/7 I truly believed Hatton could win. Well, Mayweather wiped the canvas with him and taught Hatton and us a lesson!
Still, when you watch Mayweather-Mosley 24-7 you will surely be compelled. It is beautiful television.
We see the loud, brash, arrogant, silver-tongued Mr Money Mayweather talking himself up and looking like he has never been in a fight, let alone won 40 straight professional boxing boughts and held world championships across 5 weight divisions. Hearing Mayweather talk, you have to love him or hate him. There is no middle ground. He is the master of the ring, and the master of promotions.
Watching Mayweather fight live is a truly magical event. Watching Mayweather talk himself up on camera and almost force 20 million people to watch his fights live on pay-per-view is equally magical. You get the idea that Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr knows exactly what he is doing with his words as much as his fists in the boxing ring, and yet he does it with such skill you can't help be drawn in.
And then we see the slower, less-polished, quieter, tough man ... Sugar Shane Mosley, who looks like he's been fighting all his life. Mosley sounds confident enough, and we all get inspired as he calmly tells us how he is stronger and quicker than anyone Mayweather has fought before. We start to believe that he will push and bully Mayweather like Hatton and Marquez could not in his last two fights. We think watching Mayweather vs Mosley on 1 May 2010 will be the fight where Mayweather gets taught a lesson.
But somewhere, reality jumps out at us and we know deep down that Mayweather will box clever, be too fast and too skilled for an old Shane Mosley. But we still have hope ... and the creators of Mayweather Mosley 24/7 know that we all hope for Mosely to produce the fight of his life and beat Floyd Mayweather. And watching Mayweather-Mosley 24-7, we start to think it could happen.
